Terex Digger Derricks Best in the Industry, According to Customers

Terex Digger Derrick Lifting a Transformer

Terex Utilities’ digger derricks are the workhorse of the utility industry and are built for strength, stability, and minimal maintenance so crews can tackle tough jobs in tough conditions. Customers tell us that our digger derricks are the best in the industry because they can handle the challenges of the job site. The Terex line of digger derricks can dig holes and set poles without requiring the operator to reposition the truck. Here are just a few reasons Terex Utilities digger derricks are built reliable, built to last, and BUILT. DIFFERENT.

What makes us the best?

Terex Digger Derricks are BUILT with a High-Strength Boom

  • The box boom design of Terex digger derricks provides strength and rigidity in a lightweight package.
  • The pedestal has a large diameter rotation bearing and rigid upper and lower mounting plates that contribute to rigidity.
  • A large nut retention system for the main hinge pin locks the boom and side plates together which also contributes to excellent rigidity.

Our Digger Derricks are BUILT with Dual Lift Cylinders Versus One Cylinder

  • Dual hydraulic lift cylinders that are positioned in a trapezoidal design stabilizes the boom while digging and rotating to provide superior out-of-the-hole lifting.
  • Operators can dig to the depth of the full auger flight and pull the auger out of the ground.

Our Digger Derricks are BUILT with Leading Work Zone Capacity

  • Terex General and Commander digger derricks boast some of the strongest work zone capacities for distribution and transmission applications at low boom angles.

Terex Digger Derricks are BUILT with New Technology

Terex digger derricks also have more technology than ever before to match the needs of our customers. The standard full pressure hydraulic control system offered on our diggers derricks is known for its feel-and-feather operation and reliability, but we have now added the option of FlexPro controls. FlexPro is a suite of flexible control options that allows operators to choose from a joystick command post, control consoles below rotation, or multiple radio remote options. FlexPro does not impact the digger structure, strength, or load chart. Its flexible control stations can easily be changed at any point in time by bolting on the desired controls and plugging in a single connector. Diagnostic information is displayed in several locations for easy access to troubleshoot electrical issues, or hydraulic overload. Temperature warnings give operators greater insight into operational status.

Terex digger derricks have the strength, reliability, and the technology to take on the challenges your utility crew will encounter on the job site. It is the reason Terex Utilities digger derricks continue to outperform the industry. It is the reason Terex digger derricks are BUILT. DIFFERENT.
