Terex Rough Terrain Cranes Host Technical Training in Latin America

Terex Rough Terrain Cranes was delighted to host an intensive week of technical training for technicians from its distributor network across Latin America last month.

Technicians from Equipos TRT, Chile; ICP, Costa Rica and Panama; Stewart & Stevenson, Colombia; and Mason, Brazil were among those in attendance, following an increased demand for Terex Rough Terrain Cranes in their territories. The training consisted of a detailed product overview on both RT and TRT ranges, and the new TRT 80 model was available for hands-on training of the crane’s operation and to simulate failures and diagnostics.

Alexandre Vaccari, Technical Training Supervisor/Customer and Product Support, Terex Rough Terrain Cranes said “Our distribution network, and in particular their technicians, are integral to the support our customers receive in the field. The training week was a great opportunity to deeply enhance their knowledge on our full range of rough terrain cranes. It was terrific to see the support and receptivity shown by those in attendance and we look forward to rolling out a second training session in the coming months.”

Feedback from the technicians confirmed that the training proved to be useful both in terms of understanding the equipment better and enjoyment of the overall experience.

Enrique Sepulveda, technician from Equipos TRT Chile said, "The training held in Brazil for the TRT 80 crane was an important opportunity for us to learn about the new product, where we appreciated the new technologies that are being implemented in the cranes; in which the operation, remote monitoring and diagnostics are simplified and optimized for the good performance of those involved (operators, planners and technicians). The possibility of exchanging spare parts (especially electronic parts) between the different TRT models makes it possible to have a critical stock that covers a larger fleet of equipment.  I believe that this technological advance places the new Terex products at the forefront of the crane industry.

I would also like to highlight the environment where the course was held, where the facilities and the refreshments were first-class and made the experience very enjoyable. All this was complemented by a knowledgeable instructor, such as Alexandre Vaccari, with a very good disposition to explain everything about the equipment and clarify all the questions we had as participants. It was great that the TRT80 crane was available for the training, since we were able to perform many activities, such as operating, simulate failures, see the programming of modules, among others.”

Rodrigo Molina, technician from Equipos TRT Chile, commented, "The training of the Terex TRT 80 crane in Brazil was very important—it was helpful to know all the technical improvements, both operationally and in the technical components of this equipment. I also valued learning how easy diagnosis of any technical problem or operational doubts can be with this new crane—it meets all the operational and technical needs, as it is a product that offers reliability and operational safety of high range. I know customers can be assured of a safe and reliable crane for their operations.

I must also highlight the pleasant atmosphere of the training session. The instructor takes time to answer our questions, the facilities were first-class, and it was great to be able to safely test the equipment. I am grateful for the unconditional support of the instructor Alexandre Vaccari, and all his collaborators.”

Ricardo Antonio Sáez Vásquez, Stewart & Stevenson in Columbia commented, “During the training session I saw first-hand the simple navigation the different screens of the cranes and ease of access to the different hydraulic and electrical components. As for the training itself, it was clear to me that the trainer was an expert on the product - I appreciated the explanations and examples he provided. The logistics of the training were well organised and made the experience all the more enjoyable.”
